According               to               CNN.com,               Lindsay               Lohan               reportedly               failed               at               least               one               court-ordered               drug               test               this               past               Friday.

The               news               comes               less               than               a               month               after               the               sometime               actress/magazine               model               was               released               from               rehab               as               part               of               the               terms               stemming               from               her               2007               DUI               conviction.

If               it               turns               out               that               she               did               in               fact               fail               the               drug               test,               she               could               be               convicted               of               violating               her               probation,               and               could               face               30               days               in               jail.

News               of               Lohan's               alleged               stumble               comes               hot               on               the               trail               of               reports               of               Paris               Hilton's               guilty               plea               in               her               cocaine               possession               case.

Hilton               was               arrested               late               last               month               in               Las               Vegas               when               the               SUV               driven               by               her               boyfriend               was               stopped               by               police               for               suspicion               of               marijuana               use.

When               Hilton               was               taken               aside               for               questioning               it               was               discovered               that               she               had               been               holding               a               small               amount               of               cocaine               in               her               purse.

Although               she               originally               denied               that               the               purse               or               the               cocaine               were               hers,               Hilton               changed               her               tune               in               front               of               a               Las               Vegas               judge               today,               admitting               that               she               lied               to               the               police,               in               exchange               for               a               reduction               of               the               charges               from               a               felony               to               a               misdemeanor               offense.

According               to               USA               Today.com,               the               plea               bargain               allows               Hilton               to               attend               a               substance               abuse               program,               complete               200               hours               of               community               service,               and               pay               $2000               in               fines               in               lieu               of               serving               any               jail               time.
               Upon               reports               that               she               had               allegedly               failed               at               least               one               of               her               most               recent               twice-weekly               drug               tests,               Lohan's               probation               has               been               temporarily               revoked.

That               motion               is               being               delayed,               however,               unless               she               fails               to               appear               before               the               judge               overseeing               her               case               on               Friday               morning               as               directed.

Given               her               legal               history,               her               attorneys               may               well               try               a               plea               bargain               like               Hilton's               did               in               the               hopes               of               keeping               their               client               out               of               jail               as               well.
               Like               Hilton,               Lohan               has               already               served               time               and               been               sent               to               court-mandated               rehab.

Unlike               Hilton,               she               has               an               extensive               personal               and               legal               history               of               substance               abuse,               not               the               relatively               more               haphazard               mishaps               that               Hilton               seems               prone               to.

Lohan               was               due               for               the               next               hearing               on               her               adherence               to               the               terms               of               her               probation               November               1st,               but               if               she               violated               them               beforehand,               Judge               Fox               had               already               previously               indicated               that               she               would               almost               certainly               serve               more               time               in               prison               if               that               happened.

If               it               turns               out               that               Lohan               did               fail               one               or               more               of               her               court-mandated               drug               tests,               it               may               be               impossible               given               her               legal               history               for               her               attorneys               to               keep               her               out               of               prison               this               time               around.
